i am only..hmm?

she has a way about herself.
a way to make everything seem light.
to make all things okay.
(even though when they're not)
and i choose to believe her.
at times id rather not talk to her.
for fear of messing up.
i've always looked up to her.
yet im never good enough.
(and that's not what i want)
and then she tells me some things.
things i cant really believe.
but the way her words flow.
i swear her lips tell nothing but truth.
i soak myself in conversation.
with hopes of finding something real.
and her words become sweet.
oh, the triumphant beating in my chest!
the euphoria i drown myself with!
the longing that has finally subsided!
but then again..
those beautiful words were never for me.
just as beautiful will never be for me.
